I started curling when I
was 10 in the Sunday night Jr league. I was too short for basketball
and my buddy wanted me to try it out with him. I played my first Jr
state in Bemidji and we where the best 0-4 team there.
In 2003 I was selected to be the alternate on Kris Perkovich's World
Jr. B team where we competed in Copenhagen, Denmark. I played 4 of
our 7 games and played all positions accept skip. We then finished
5th at Jr nationals without our skip. The next year i teamed up with
North Dakota's Zach Jacobson as his 3rd. We went undefeated through
state and to the final at Jr nationals where we lost to my current
lead John Shuster to finish the year with a 17-1 record. In the
following summer Pete asked me to play on his team and I gladly
accepted the offer. We all know what happened from there.
